The VR Reels are the latest evolution of Van Staal spinning reels. Fully sealed, with a lightweight 6061 aluminum construction, and a powerful waterproof drag system. They come from the factory with a bail and a bailless conversion kit so you can fish them however you like.

Vr 50 on a 7 foot medium can do anything from flats fishing, to handing slot/over slot snook and mid sized tarpon. I run it with 15lb power pro on a 7ft medium st croix avid. Absolute tank

The reel is fine , but your customer service stinks to put it nicely.Filled out the form and phone number took over a week to get contacted and that was useless.All I wanted was the manual that was missing from reel box and was told I could send the reel to them if I wanted to remove bail, it comes with the parts to convert it if I want, why should it be sent back to them .Customer service rep was useless

Reel is top notch!! Customer service sucks. I have tried on several occasions to contact customer service and have yet to receive a call back or email response.
For such a high-end company, the customer service just plain sucks!!

The reel is great, but your customer service dept sucks!
I sent a note to the contact address on your website. It was a simple question regarding the operation of the reel.
I sent this note over 10 days ago and still have not received a reply. Btw, I did try and call the number on the website and never received an answer and was not allowed to leave a message. The phone hung up before I could leave one.
Also, the reel was shipped with no written directions for maintenance or operation.
I would expect more from a high-end company like this.
