The VR Reels are the latest evolution of Van Staal spinning reels. Fully sealed, with a lightweight 6061 aluminum construction, and a powerful waterproof drag system. They come from the factory with a bail and a bailless conversion kit so you can fish them however you like.

I currently own 7 van staal reels in various sizes from vr 50 to vr 150, and a vsx2 50 . Awesome reels !!! l want to make a request, wouldn’t it be neat if you built a vr 25 that came in at a weight between 6 to 7.5 ounces? For ultralight fishing, that could also be used for freshwater fishing. I would definitely buy several. “ just saying “ 👍👍👍 anyway great reels!!!!

Paired it with the 11' dagger pole. Been tearing them up ever since. It outcasts my Penn by about 45%. Smooth function and easy to keep up.
